California Jury Awards US$112 Million for Patent, Copyright Infringement, and Other Claims

On August 6, 2012, a federal jury in San Jose, California returned a verdict totaling $112 million to network equipment supplier Brocade Communications Systems Inc. on patent, copyright, trade secret, and tort claims it brought against A10 Networks Inc. The jury’s verdict form is available here: Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. v. A10 Networks, Inc., No. 5:10-cv-03428-PSG (N.D. Cal. Aug. 6, 2012).

Brocade and A10 have issued press releases, predictably setting forth dramatically different views of the verdict.
